If you’re like most people, your new year’s resolutions included goals for getting healthier or in better shape. Every year, millions of people promise themselves that this will be the year.
But, sadly, most of them don’t ever realize those goals and they are left making themselves the same promises year after year. Why is that?
Some would say that it’s because of lack of strength, will power, discipline, or because of health issues or time constraints. Others would say that they are following the wrong dietary recommendations. All of these may be true at times, but I believe that one of the biggest reasons it’s so hard for many people to stick to their health and fitness plans is because of a lack of accountability, encouragement, and community. That’s why I adore my job, which is also my ministry.
Feel Like You Don’t Have Time to Work Out?
I am a busy homemaker, a homeschool mom of two boys and am pregnant with my third. I’m studying to become a holistic nutritionist, I’m a blogger, run an at home business, and am an active part of a growing ministry. I know what it’s like to feel that you just don’t have time to work out and eat right. But I also know that it IS possible to make your health a priority, as long as you have the right tools and support.
Results
I believe that women should treat pregnancy like they are training for a marathon. After all, your body works at least that hard or harder during labor and delivery. The more fit you are and the stronger your muscles, in most cases, the faster and easier the labor will be, AND those post baby pounds will come off a lot faster too!
Invitation
So, where are you in your health and fitness journey? Are you where you want to be? If not, why aren’t you?
I absolutely believe, and have seen over and over again, that having support and accountability can make a huge difference in your likelihood to reach your goals. And today I want to extend an invitation to you.

Erin’s Week 4 Update:
Weight: Despite the initial shock of losing 4 lbs. the initial week, I am now convinced it was a fluke. The scale that week said 153, and this week’s it was 155.7 (down 2 from last week). I think saying I’ve lost 2 lbs. total may be accurate.
Inches: Same as last week….1 inch total from waistline.
Diastasis: It seems like it’s down to about a 2?
Biggest Challenge: This may be typical this far in, but I’ve been a little discouraged this week. I only worked out twice (which WAS last week’s mini challenge, but my personal goal is to exercise 3 times/week). I was fighting off a cold with echinacea and elderberry all week, so I took it more easy. The timing of Burn Bootcamp is also frustrating. It’s just not conducive to family life (5:45 p.m. every night), and I’m finding how hard it is to truly “fit in fitness” as a mom of young children. It definitely takes thinking outside the box!
I’ve also been discouraged that it seems to be taking so long to lose weight. I know “slow and steady wins the race,” but I have never had a problem losing weight before. In fact, I was always very, very thin before my second–and especially my third–pregnancy. Those babies are totally worth it, but I want to be a healthy mama for them!!
On an encouraging note, I’m finding that I have more energy and sleep better when I exercise, which gives me motivation to continue! And, I noticed that a pair of jeans fit much better this week!
Week 4 Mini Challenge: Work out 3 times this week.
